Fluoxymesterone 10

Fluoxymesterone is contraindicated in patients with:

• Severe cardiac, hepatic or renal disease
• Prostate or breast cancer in males
• Hypersensitivity to fluoxymesterone or any of its components

Caution is advised in geriatric patients due to the potential risk of developing prostatic hypertrophy or carcinoma. The drug should not be used during pregnancy.

Patients should be monitored for signs of hepatotoxicity, lipid abnormalities, and prostate changes. Discontinuation may be necessary if significant adverse reactions occur.

The recommended dosage varies depending on the specific indication and patient response. For male hypogonadism, a daily dose of 5 to 20 mg is typically used for complete replacement. In females with advanced breast cancer, a higher dose of 10 to 40 mg per day in divided doses may be prescribed for palliative therapy.

Fluoxymesterone is a controlled substance (Schedule III) with the potential for abuse. It should only be used under proper medical supervision for legitimate medical purposes.
